Jaggu

Jaggu is a large-scale artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering company based in London. They use analytics and data to shine a light on consumer behaviour.

The technology stems from Ph.D development at UCL, in conjunction with renowned researchers from Microsoft Research Cambridge.

With their suite of tools, Jaggu has helped investors raise over $9m, while their clients — including global brands like WPP and Channel 4 — have revenues exceeding $2b.

Through a series of three intense sprints, we were commissioned to help Jaggu reach new partners and grow their brand: building a compelling visual identity and creating a valuable digital interface.

Standing out in a crowded marketplace

The rise of startups offering artificial intelligence and machine learning is ever expanding, and the space is getting saturated with many brands borrowing these buzzwords. For Jaggu, however, it’s a core part of their offering.

The very heart of what Jaggu does has been distilled into a simple, yet elegant brand marque: the form represents the process of discovery, reinforced through the visual language of layering. Going further than just a logo, this idea of layering and discovery has been integrated throughout the digital interface and brand communications.

Creating clarity

Building an elegant, but valuable, sales funnel

For many B2B organisations, digital presence is an afterthought. Not for Jaggu — a company regularly involved in pitching for large contracts and working closely with retailers, along with global marketing and branding agencies.

Our aim was simple: Jaggu had to be designed for busy clients, who are evaluating multiple companies and doing so whilst time is scarce. Knowing this, we kept information digestible; highlighting key facts and proudly offering compelling testimonials.

In doing so, the tone of the sales site is in-keeping with the brand itself: Jaggu looks and sounds as elegant as the algorithms they write — unfailing in a mission to avoid visual clichés around technology. New competitors in the space won’t be thinking that far ahead.

Telling the truth

A bold brand statement

Alongside the visual identity, we constructed an honest brand statement that cuts through to the core of their offering: using the latest technological advancements to understand your customer and unlock insights. Or in other words, to discover the truth. Jaggu shines a light between brands and consumer behaviour.

Not only is it outward facing, but it unifies Jaggu with their partners: a design methodology. During our design sprints we constantly asked, does this solution mirror the brand statement: is it honest, clear, and transparent? This set of principles is something the whole team has got behind.

Building the toolkit for investment

Many companies in the AI/ML space are courted by potential investors, and Jaggu is no different. We made sure the brand principles work in investment decks and other branded communications — encouraging a simple, cohesive, and polished presentation every time. Designing for the future.

Image Recognition System

Visualising a complex algorithm

Jaggu’s product is incredibly intelligent, and constantly in motion. We wanted to find ways to represent their Image Recognition System, so built a series of animated demos. They let potential clients see the speed and power behind the suite or products in a very visual and accessible way.

Designing a beautifully simple demo

After two successful sprints, focusing on the brand and sales page, we were tasked to redesign the ecommerce demo for potential clients. We created a distilled product, showing only what’s necessary. With a flick of a switch, the demo lets users look under the hood, and see how the algorithms are shaping what they see. It’s a persuasive tool for in-person demos, and invaluable for sharing remotely.
