Digital strategy. Working with the team, we helped devise a strategy to make Enrich the most feature-rich and powerful platform available.

User experience design.  Staff use these platforms all day, every day. We combine research, theory, and user feedback to create the best user experience.

User interface design. Part of a great experience is having a sophisticated user interface that makes sense, and makes it easy to perform core tasks.

Beautiful user interface

We've developed a sophisticated user interface that's fitting for a world class ecommerce platform. From thoughtful typography to considered use of colour, every design decision is purposeful — going hand-in-hand with our wider user experience strategies.

Developing a human tone of voice

Giving a platform personality is crucial. It’s not just an interface, but something staff interact with for long periods. We developed a thoughtful use of language across the designs — a helpful, human tone of voice. We avoid technical jargon (no developer-speak here), and encourage positive reinforcement. There’s information to share with users, but we avoid Enrich being nagging or irritating: Let’s not just say there’s an error, but say what’s wrong and how to fix it.

Helpful alerts

Understanding user behaviour has helped us create a suite of sophisticated alerts designed to reduce errors, increase reliability, and improve productivity. Alerts are conceptualised into three areas: success messages (for positive reinforcement), soft alerts (to guide and advise) and error alerts (for crucial information). Enrich feels like an intelligent personal assistant, than just a run of the mill CMS.

boosting productivity

Making repetitive tasks a breeze

A lot of staff use their platforms all day, everyday. Tasks are important, but can be repetitive: updating product descriptions, editing media, and manual cross-merchandising are examples. We’ve conceptualised and designed a series of bulk editing tools that cut the time it takes to perform everyday tasks, streamlining the workflow and increasing productivity.

optimised UX for the retail industry

Competitor audits and talking to retail staff means we've been to optimise Enrich by designing with their context and needs in mind. We've developed an intuitive and frictionless user experience, without sacrificing any functionality for power users. An example is the new visual approach to merchandising (focusing on creativity, not abstract SKUs).

A visual language to compliment data

By their very nature, enterprise ecommerce platforms are data heavy. But data's not emotive. To engage global retail brands we've designed a series of bespoke icons for Enrich. This is a small part of the wider distinctive visual language of the brand. It’s what initially separates Enrich from dull competitors.

Developing a seamless user journey

To form the foundations of the platform, we focused on planning and designing the architecture. This is particularly important as the platform handles tonnes of data each day. Designing thoughtful organisation schemes, navigation systems, and labelling structures ensures users understand where they are and where to go next. With users as the focal point, we considered the context and content of each area, and each interaction.

Distinctive design for enterprise

From the brand identity to the user interface design, we had to balance great looking design with enterprise professionally. The platform is designed with flexibility in mind — it won't feel out of place in any global brand. It's grown up, but feels contemporary.

STAKEHOLDERS AND INVESTORS

Creating persuasive documentation

Along with delivering the brand identity and comprehensive user interface designs, we’ve worked with the team to provide sales sites and persuasive documentation. Stakeholders are interested in how the platform drives increased revenue, and how the it stands up against rivals. We help develop a strategy and tone of voice, deliver professional investor related collateral, and offer continual consultation.

Bitesize analytics for realtime management

Part of being an efficient business is understanding how every part of the organisation is performing. In addition to the substantial reports section, we implemented accessible analytics across the platform. Managers can see what needs doing and allocate resources accordingly. Information is presented in a clear and straightforward way: simple data visualisation is at the heart of the platform.

Traffic light numbering

Performance statistics are positioned in key areas of the platform to give users and managers a realtime understanding and let them be reactive. We use an intuitive visual approach with traffic light colours and large numbers to understand complex data at a glance.

modular approach

Design strategy for agile development

Building a powerful ecommerce platform that handles merchandising, sales, warehousing, dispatch and customer services isa considerable task. We’ve used a modular design strategy, so the team can add new features and functionality as Enrich grows and new clients come on board. This reduces development time and ensures consistency throughout.

Competitor research and UX audits

Getting the most out a project means looking at stats, performing interviews with internal staff, and finding out what others are doing. It’s not about copying, but understanding how your product fits in the market. You discover things you didn’t know about your brand, and what your customers don’t know about you. It helps focus your value proposition, and define your USP.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT

Working with the team for a phased approach

On Enrich, we work with stakeholders, retail consultants, and a team of technical developers. Working together, most often communicating remotely, we’re able offer constant updates and refine the ongoing strategy. This includes offering consultation and defining a phased approach for future development: conceptualising new functionality and continually refining the user experience.

How we worked with the team

Marvel was used for fast iterative prototyping and refinement

We used Adobe Creative Cloud for designing assets

We used Flinto for prototyping animations and transitions

We used Teamwork for project management with the team

We've got experience working on large projects with multi-agency teams, and develop long-lasting relationships. Whether you're a tech startup, one man band or large established agency, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch →
